Running for ACHD

Having been born with Congenital Heart Disease, Aleechia Taylor was no stranger to the difficulties faced by young people with this life changing condition. However, having successfully undergone open heart surgery in April 2022 to correct so many of the issues that she had been facing, Aleechia decided to make the positive decision to get fit and support LHCH Charity at the same time.

Aleechia says: “I will be forever grateful for the amazing care that Liverpool Heart and Chest provided and the comfort they gave me in my most vulnerable time. So, I felt raising funds to help the hospital was my way of saying thank you. This was by far the hardest thing I have ever done and”

To challenge herself, Aleechia decided to take part in the ‘Chase the Sun 5K Challenge’ at Heaton Park in October, a mere 7 months after her life saving surgery! She says that it was: by far the hardest thing I have ever done but I was so proud when I finished. Knowing that I also raised £300 for LHCH Charity made all the effort worthwhile.”

Aleechia, we think you are truly inspirational and we are so grateful for your support - it really means a lot to everyone here!
