Dave's Dash!

"Earlier this year we lost a wonderful colleague and great friend, so in his memory I've decided to take on the '496 Challenge' this October."

Throughout October our Head of Capital Projects and Decontamination, Dave MacMillan is taking on the challenge of running every day throughout the whole month, starting with 1km on the first of the month, 2km on the 2nd of the month and so on. This means by the end of the month he will have covered a total of 496km – the equivalent of running from Liverpool to Amsterdam!

And Dave has a target - to raise enough money to purchase a state-of-the-art Cardiac Output Monitor which will help monitor some of the most poorly patients in our Intensive Care Unit without the need for any further invasive treatment. These machines reduce post operative complications, lead to shorter recovery times, and help people get home to their loved ones even quicker.

"These machines will benefit over 2,000 patients who have open heart surgery with us each year and my target is to raise enough money to purchase one of them in Gary’s name."

We're wishing Dave the very best of luck as he takes on this daunting challenge and can't wait to support him each and every day.
