HUGE congratulations are in order for Mel Harvey and her friend Abigail Wilmitt for not only completing the 2022 Dublin Marathon, but also for raising an incredible £3,373 to support LHCH Charity at the same time.
Mel Harvey, 50, who works as Communications Manager for Liverpool Health Partners, decided to take on this challenge to say thank you to LHCH following her husband’s treatment here earlier this year.
Mel said: “My husband Neil suffered a sudden cardiac arrest in February and as he is one of the fittest people I know and had never suffered previous symptoms, this came as a complete shock to us.
Neil’s life was saved by the swift and brave actions of his friend Brett, a passing off duty paramedic, Northwest Ambulance and the simply brilliant and caring staff at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital. Words can’t express my debt of gratitude to them.”
Not even a recent injury could stop Mel and so in October, both she and Abi travelled to Dublin to take part in this incredible test and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Thank you so much ladies for all of your hard work and support over the past couple of months – it is greatly appreciated by everyone here at LHCH!
