Zowie Railton and her family and friends all came together to support LHCH Charity after we helped care for her mother who sadly passed away last year.
Zowie and co. worked so hard and managed to raise nearly £2,000 for LHCH Charity which is no small feat. We were with them every step of the way and we are proud of what they achieved. Here's Zowie's story...
"Our mum was one in a million, she kind and always put others before herself. Mum was brought to Liverpool Chest and Heart Hospital on the 7th July with a suspected heart attack. However, tests later proved our mum had suffered a catastrophic brain aneurysm."
"This did not alter the way mum was cared for at the hospital. In fact, all the doctors and nurses on the ICU ward went above and beyond their duties to ensure mum's final days where as best they could be. The attention to the care they provided our mum with and us as a family was truly admirable. They made our darkest days seem that little bit brighter and for this we are forever grateful."
"We sadly lost our mum on the 9th July 2019 and we as a family wanted to show the hospital our gratitude and support them in their campaign to support patients and their families that like us, spent every hour on the ward."
"We started our fundraiser with family and friends completing a sponsored walk up Snowdon. The weather was against us but we all completed it including the children. Not only have we raised a total amount of £1745 to support this amazing cause, but we are keeping mum's memory alive by helping others as she so kindly did all of her life. "
"We are excited to continue supporting this charity and are already planning our next event."
