Two sisters climb to say thanks!

Updated: Oct 19, 2021

Sisters Lauren, 25 and Isabelle, 14 decided to climb one of the UK’s highest peaks to say thank you to LHCH after we saved their dad’s life.

An otherwise fit and healthy Mr Speed, 45, became very ill and after being diagnosed with Infective Endocarditis was immediately transfered to Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital. He had to undergo emergency surgery for his aortic valve.

Thankfully, he is now making a steady recovery, happy to be at home and incredibly grateful for the amazing treatment and aftercare from Mr Field and the LHCH team.

So to say thanks, Lauren, a Health Advisor for North West Ambulance Service and her little sister Isabelle decided to take on the challenge of climbing Helvellyn and raised an incredible £1,400 for LHCH Charity.

Lauren said “All staff involved were absolutely incredible, from the consultants, to the surgeons and the post surgery nurses. Isabelle and I wanted to show our thanks by helping raise some money so that they can continue doing their fantastic work”.

Thank you so much for supporting us Lauren and Isabelle, it means a lot!
