Rowing for LHCH

The pupils at Grange School have been long time supporters of LHCH Charity in memory of John Nesbitt, a former pupil at the school. This year though they decided to go that extra mile (pun intended!) and make their annual Rowathon a real and intense challenge.

Starting on Saturday 20th January more than 30 students from years 11 to 13 took part rowing 6Km every 4 hours until 8.00am on Sunday 21st.

After battling through the day and night with encouragement from proud parents and teachers as well as Abba and Disco hours they had already reached well over the 1 million km mark but a few die-hards were determined to keep at it and eventually they reached a truly astonishing 1.5 kms!!!

So, after all the sweat, lack of sleep, discoing and sheer determination, this inspirational group of young people managed to raise a phenomenal £3,485. Combined with previous support and events, this now makes their running total just short of £14,000. We truly couldn't be more grateful for their utterly brilliant efforts and are thanking each and every individual who took part in this epic challenge, you really are amazing.
