During the month of March, we had some pretty super supporters here at LHCH Charity, from Merseyside all the way to Anglesey!

To kick start the month we were cheering on supporter ,Cadi Gwilym, as she took on the Anglesey Half Marathon on the 2nd March. Cadi wanted to fundraise for LHCH Charity after her grandad, Gwilym, received treatment at LHCH in 2024.
Cadi took on the challenge with absolute ease, tackled over 13 miles and managed to raise a phenomenal £1,300.
Cadi said:
"My grandad received just the best care whilst at LHCH and I'm so glad that through my fundraising I've been able to give something back and say thank you".
Next on our supporters list was the dynamic duo, Emily and Modlen. In memory of her dad, Ian, Emily and her friend. Modlen, decided to take on the challenge of the Superhalfs Lisbon marathon.

Although Ian wasn’t a patient at LHCH, Emily wanted to support LHCH Charity due to her dad’s condition, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
Emily said:
“There was a lot of charities I could choose to support but LHCH charity resonated the most with me. I think he’d be delighted that we’re running this race in his memory and would beam with pride".
So, the pair battled through all kinds of weather, rain, wind and sun, but through their epic efforts made it to the finish line and managed to raise an amazing £1,300!
As the month came to a close, we saw ourselves cheering on four of our brilliant supporters, as they took on the Liverpool Half Marathon, which included three LHCH colleagues! We had Consultant Cardiologist, Dr Nick Palmer, Cherry Ward Sister, Laura Allen and Pharmacist, Abby Rainsley. The team was also joined by charity supporter, Amelia Percy, after her sister received treatment for lung cancer at LHCH last year.
All together they managed to raise over £3,900 and we really couldn't be more grateful.
A huge well done to every single super supporter throughout March, you really are the best!
