From lung surgery to the Chester 10k!

Last summer, Daisy experienced a frightening health scare when her lung suddenly collapsed. When it happened again just weeks later, she was referred by her local hospital to the specialist team at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital.
In November, Daisy underwent lung surgery known as a VATS pleurectomy and bullectomy, designed to prevent her lung from collapsing again. Although the experience was daunting, Daisy recovered well thanks to the care and expertise of the team.
Determined to give something back, Daisy turned her recovery into a fundraising challenge and laced up her running shoes to complete the Chester 10K in support of LHCH Charity.
Weeks of training, dedication and some seriously hard work, on the 8th March, Daisy took part in and completed the Chester 10K all in support of LHCH Charity.
Reflecting on her experience, Daisy said:
“From start to finish at my time in hospital, I was looked after so well. The theatre staff, ward teams, porters taking me down to X-ray — every single person was so kind, compassionate and genuinely caring. They truly made a not-so-nice experience so much better - and that's why I couldn't be happier to give back and show just how much I appreciate what LHCH did for me."
What a super star you are Daisy! We couldn't be more grateful for your support.
