Awesome Autumn

As the summer sun faded and the autumn leaves began to fall, LHCH Charity has been truly inspired by a season filled with incredible acts of kindness and determination. From mountain climbs to marathon runs, our wonderful supporters have gone above and beyond to raise vital funds for the charity — and we couldn’t be more grateful!

On 5th September, in loving memory of their beloved mum and grandma, Christine, Louise Barret and her family courageously took on the challenge of climbing the iconic Ben Nevis. Braving strong winds and heavy rain, the determined group successfully reached the summit of the UK’s highest mountain — raising an amazing £2,000 for LHCH Charity. An incredible achievement and a truly touching tribute to Christine.

Just a week later, another fantastic group of supporters laced up their walking boots to complete a 10.5-mile sponsored walk in memory of their dear family member and friend, Michael, who was cared for at LHCH. Their teamwork and dedication shone through, helping them raise nearly £1,000 for the charity. A huge well done to everyone involved!

Jumping ahead to October, we were inspired by one truly remarkable supporter — Richard, a former LHCH patient who decided to take on the Coast to Coast challenge, an incredible 192-mile journey from Cumbria to Yorkshire. After undergoing open-heart surgery at LHCH last year, Richard was determined to give back and show his gratitude for the care he received. Completing his challenge in just 11 days, he raised over £1,600 for LHCH Charity. A phenomenal effort from an exceptional supporter!

On 12th October, the brilliant Ryan took on the Manchester Half Marathon. After his dad received treatment at LHCH, Ryan wanted to show his appreciation for the care his father received. Taking the 13.1-mile challenge in his stride, Ryan raised an impressive £710 for the charity. Fantastic work, Ryan — what a wonderful way to give back!

Thank You to Our Supporters

We are so proud and thankful for all our supporters who continue to make a difference through their time, energy, and generosity. Every step, mile, and challenge helps us continue our vital work supporting the patients, families, and staff at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital.

If you’ve been inspired by these amazing stories and would like to take on your own challenge for LHCH Charity, we’d love to hear from you!
