A Heartfelt Thank You

We’re always blown away by the amazing ways our donors choose to give back to LHCH Charity. From tough physical challenges to creative fundraising ideas, the support we receive never fails to inspire us. This February though, we saw something a little different—a truly heartfelt auction that meant so much.

Wanting to say thank you for the care her daughter Rosie received, the lovely Patricia organised a special auction to raise funds for LHCH Charity. The purchase was a beautiful 9ct yellow gold heart pendant—something that felt especially meaningful to Patricia due to Rosie’s journey.

After feeling unwell for some time, Rosie had tests at her local hospital and was diagnosed with endocarditis—a rare and potentially life-threatening condition affecting the heart. She was then transferred to LHCH, where she underwent open-heart surgery in November last year.

After a long but steady recovery, Rosie is back home, spending time with her loved ones.

Reflecting on their experience, Patricia said:

“The team at Liverpool Heart and Chest were just incredible to Rosie and to us as a family. I cannot find words good enough to describe the surgeons, anaesthetists, consultants, doctors, nurses— they saved my daughter’s life, and that’s why I simply had to show my thanks through supporting LHCH Charity.”

And that she did. Patricia’s auction raised an incredible £1,205—an amazing amount from an amazing supporter!

Stories like this Patricia and Rosie's mean so much to us here at LHCH Charity, and we couldn't be more grateful for our supporters.

If Patricia's story inspired you, there are loads of ways you can get involved too. You could organise your own fundraiser, take on one of our very own challenges, donate, or simply help spread the word.

Every little bit really does help and through your support we can keep making a difference for patients and their families.
